The new Beaufort Town Market will launch on Saturday 28th September, 8am to 1pm.
“Beaufort Town Market aims to connect consumers, producers, local businesses and farmers to promote our local agricultural heritage and food offerings. By supporting our local artisan producers, we are building a healthier, stronger and more financially viable community.”
It will then continue every 4th Saturday of the month until May 2020.
Positioned in the heart of Beaufort in the beautiful memorial gardens the market will showcase the best of an “old town market”. Organizers of the Market; the Beaufort Progress Association, have spent considerable time in creating a brand and theme that reflects all the great things that Beaufort and surrounds has to offer. The redevelopment of the Beaufort Market is one part of their ongoing strategy to make Beaufort – Bypass ready.
“We want market goers to experience everything that Beaufort has to offer: the amazing history, the wonderful wines, artisan foods and its growing arts culture”. said market manager Liza Robinson.
A feature of the market are 3 wonderful community fund raising areas. They are the Sausage Sizzle, Pop up Devonshire Tea Room and the gold coin entry.
“We want to make sure community groups benefit from being a part of the new market”, Liza added.
Guests can also enjoy entertainment, diy workshops and demonstrations.
“There will be something for all age groups”, said Market Ambassador and Beaufort resident Sara Kittelty, “face painting for children, old fashioned board games for seniors. I will be doing some cooking demos too”.
“The Pyrenees shire have some wonderful farm gate businesses, so we have approached artisan producers and speciality food suppliers to attend”, said Sara.
In line with our belief that we need to care for our environment, the market will also be “plastic free”, so we ask all market goers to bring their own baskets and bags.
